Langtang Gosainkundda Helambu Trekking is a colourful trail which unfolds natural scenery, lakes and culture one after another.

In this trip of 17 days, you will visit three different places namely Langtang Valley, Gosainkunda and Helambu. Every site has its own uniqueness. The trail offers an astounding view of peaks like Manaslu Killer Mountain (8,163m)—HimalChuli (7,893m) and Ganesh Himal (7,406m) including Langtang Lirung.

The fascinating Hyolmo culture practised by Tamang, the typical culture of Sherpa people, the prayer flags and mani wall and the view of snow-capped peaks will fill your heart with joy. Moreover, the blooming rhododendron on the way will make your mood for the trail in most of the destinations forgetting your tiredness.

If lucky enough, you will get chance to see Red panda or cat bear. Besides, you will also get an opportunity to see Himalayan black bear, blue sheep, snow leopard and musk dear along with other species of mammals.

There is another speciality of Gosainkunda. The site is popular among Hindu. Hindus visit here to take dip in sacred Gosainkunda Lake at the festival of Janaipurnima which falls on the full moon day of August. In general, Brahmin and Kshetriya change their cord after taking dip in the lake.

It is said that Lord Shiva got released from the poison after drinking water from this kunda (Lake)—Gosiankunda. He made this kunda by striking the ground with his trident. Legends say that to save the world from the impact of lethal poison Lord Shiva drank the poison storing it in his throat which came out during the churning of the sea. Including Gosainkunda Lake, there are 108 lakes in this area.

Namaste! Info Nepal Treks and Expedition heartily welcomes you to the city of temples – Kathmandu. We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office representative will be there holding placard on which either client’s or company's name will be printed just opposite of the arrival and after your reception, we will drive to the hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, we fix the schedule for a short orientation meeting which gives you some general information about the trip and you will settle rest of the due payment at the same time. For this, you have to be with 3 P.P. size photographs, a copy of passport and a copy of travel insurance.

    Your trip to Nepal formally starts from the second day. You will be visiting UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites—Bashantapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Swoyambhunath.

    Kathmandu itself is a living museum and Bashantapur Durbar Square is the jewel of the crown. The site covers more than five hectares area protecting historical and cultural heritage. The site truly portrays the ancient face of Nepal and its wealthy culture and tradition. The palace called Hanuman Dhoka is the centre of attraction. There are many chowks in the palace.

    There are many temples including Kumari Ghar (the house where living goddess resides) in the campus premises of Bashantapur Durbar Square.

    Pashupatinath is the popular site of Hindus where Lord Shiva is enshrined in the form of Linga known as ‘Shiva Linga’. The temple is built in pagoda style and is located in the bank of Bagmati River. It is reported that more than a million Hindus visit here at the time of Shiva Ratri—Lord Shiva’s birthday.

    Similarly, Bouddhanath is located on the north of Pashupatinath. It is the popular holy site of Buddhist. Bouddhanath is a stupa built structure which is the largest stupa of South Asia. The stupa is covered by the white wall where a small statue of Amitabh Buddha is attached. The locality of Boudhanath is also known as Little Tibet. The surrounding of the site resembles Tibetan culture and tradition.

    Furthermore, Swoyambhunath is another popular Buddhist site where more than hundred thousand spiritual based tourists visit every year. Swoyambhunath is a dome-like white structure. Many monks like in Bouddhanath pray here counting beads and rotating prayer wheels.

    After visiting aforementioned sites we will drive you back to the hotel. Here we will introduce you to the guide and other supporting staff who will accompany you on your Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek. You will also get time to hire or purchase essential things required for trekking.

    Overnight in a hotel

      After driving for around seven hours from Kathmandu we arrive at Syafrubesi. While on the ride you will get an opportunity to witness picturesque view of countryside Nepal.

      Overnight in Syafrubesi

        Our trail begins after breakfast. We arrive at Wangal. Following steep climb, we move on and this brings us at Khanjung village. After walking for another half an hour we arrive at Surkha. From here begins thick forest. We also have to pass through uphill climb before reaching Syarpogoan.

        Overnight in Lama Hotel

          As usual, we begin our trail after breakfast. Walking for around five hours we reach Ghoratabela. We proceed again and after half an hour of walk from Ghoratabela we will at a place from where beginsLangtang Valley. We will be walking for another three hours to be at a place in Langtang Valley where we will put off at night.

          Overnight in Langtang Valley

            KyanjingGompa is just an hour walk from Langtang Valley. You will enjoy the local area and the peaks in distance will drive you crazy.

            Overnight in Kyanjing Gompa

              It is a kind of leisure day. While on trekking this type of rest is essential for trekkers as it reduces the chances of being arrested by high altitude sickness. It helps to adjust your body to increasing elevation and this is known as acclimatization.

              Despite rest day we will be witnessing some fascinating peaks of the region and explore the local area. There are two viewpoints in Kyanjing Gompa: Kyanjing Ro (4,800m) and TserkoRi (5,000m). For the clear and beautiful view of Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, YansaTsenji and the Glacier we choose Tserko Review points.

                Retracing the route which we followed earlier will take us to Lama Hotel.

                  Following descend trail and crossing river and ascending for few hours we arrive at ThuloSyafru. You will get a blissful view of Langtang Himal from here. The scene is really beautiful that you will treasure throughout your life.

                    It is short walk today.Crossing hemlock, oak and rhododendron forests we arrive at Disma. The further couple of hours walk will bring us at Sing Gompa.

                      It is nice to walk today as you will be passing through rhododendron forests. In spring the area gets dotted with red rhododendrons. The area in between sing Gompa and Lauribinayak is regarded as a sanctuary for Red panda also known as cat bear. It is one of the endangered species of the world. Few hour of the further walk will bring us at Gosainkunda.

                        Following the rough path, we proceed ahead. Crossing small lakes we arrive at Lauribinayak. Few hours of a further walk will bring us at Phedi. The bottom of the hill is regarded as Phedi in Nepali. We pass through the rocky hill to be at Gopte.

                        Overnight in Gopte

                          Kahrka is the first place where we reach after starting our trail today from Gopte. We pass through dense forest and walk along the dry river bed to be at Kharka. The area is surrounded by rhododendron forests. The walk is blissful if you are walking in the spring season as the entire forests turn red due to blooming rhododendron.

                          After combating uphill climb you arrive at TharePati village. The view of Jugal area is awe-inspiring. From here we will be walking for a couple of hours to arrive at Melamchigaon. Overnight in Melamchigaon

                            It is a nice trail as we will be entering in culture region today, Helambu. The site is popular for Hyolmo and Sherpa culture. If lucky enough, you will get an opportunity to witness a marriage in Hyolmo culture. They (Hyolmo) bride steals bridegroom as marriage rituals in their culture. There are few monasteries at TarkeGyang where you can visit and learn about their religion and tradition.

                            Overnight in Tarke Gyang

                              As usual, our trail begins after breakfast. We will proceed through the downhill track. Crossing the forest we head ahead. The splendid view of Himalaya seen on the way is mesmerizing. After few hours of walk we will reach Semathang.

                              Overnight in Sermathang

                                Leaving Shermathang behind, we follow descending trail till we reach Melamchi. We will take rest for few hours here. From here we catch a bus to Panchkhal. From Panchkhal again we catch a bus to Kathmandu.

                                If you arrive Kathmandu earlier, you will have plenty of time to explore more of Kathmandu or simply search for gifts and souvenirs.
                                In the evening, you will enjoy farewell dinner and exchange your experience of the entire trip with us.

                                  Your Nepal stay ends from today. A representative of Info Nepal Treks and Expedition will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport three hours earlier to your scheduled flight.
