Khopra Trekking is newly opened destination located in Annapurna Region. The site is so gorgeous that it is gaining its popularity twice a day and four fold a night. It is a crowd less trekking trail where you will get astounding view of mountains and get opportunity to acquaint with blood drinking culture of Yak.

Moreover, the scenic view of every place while on the trek will make your mood. You will witness Annapurna South, Himchuli, Tent Peak, Gandharvachuli, Fishtail and Nilgiri on this trek. Well, you can even get the view of Mount Manaslu if the day is clear.

Culture of this place is another reason to attract tourists in recent days especially, in Janaipurnima. Locals here drink blood of yak on the festive day of Janaipurnima which falls on full moon day of August.

People in this part of the world believe that drinking the blood of yak is a cure of many diseases including cancer. According to locals, yak here graze Yarshagumba. It (yarshagumba—caterpillar fungus) is regarded as master herbal which is a cure of many diseases.

Notably, locals do not kill yak to get its blood. They inject some part of yak’s body and draw blood to serve their purpose.

Namaste! Info Nepal Treks and Expedition heartily welcomes you to the city of temples – Kathmandu. We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office representative will be there holding placard on which either client’s or company's name will be printed just opposite of the arrival and after your reception, we will drive to the hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, we fix the schedule for a short orientation meeting which gives you some general information about the trip and you will settle rest of the due payment at the same time. For this, you have to be with 3 P.P. size photographs, copy of passport and copy of travel insurance.

Overnight in hotel

    As per our schedule, the fun begins from today. You will tour Kathmandu—City of Temples. Our tour guide will show you four UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites located in the capital city. The tour begins from Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is a historical place that covers five acres land in the heart of Kathmandu. There is Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar, Kasthamandap and many more things to observe.

    The earthquake of 25th April, 2015 destroyed many temples and historic building but despite the fact the charm of the site is still there and things are in reconstruction phase. After roaming Durbar Square we drive to Pashupatinath Temple. The temple is regarded as greatest Hindu shrine where Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of Linga.

    Bouddhanath Stupa is located in close distance from Pashupatinath. It is an octagonal mandala structure stupa and Lord Buddha is worshipped here. In the vicinity of Bouddhanath there are more than 50 monasteries where you can visit and see metal structure of Lord Buddha and many other Buddhas.

    Swoyambhunath is the last destination of our visit today. It is located in a cliff and the view of Kathmandu valley is really nice from here. Swoyambhunath is also known as Monkey Temple as many monkey of Reus species are found here.

    It is a dome shape structure above which pyramid shaped metal structure is placed. At the bottom of that metal structure you can see eyes of Buddha in all four directions.

    ‘Self-Existing’ is the meaning of Swoyambhunath. It means that when there was nothing in the valley the Swoyambhu used to exist. Legends say that the civilization of Kathmandu Valley began with Swoyambhunath.

    Overnight in Hotel

      After breakfast we catch bus to Nayapul. As per your request we will arrange vehicle to you for Nayapul—private car or tourist bus. It is a drive of around six hours riding on Prithivi Highway. You will enjoy the countryside Nepal while on the way. The lush green vegetation, hills and Trishuli River will fascinate you.

      Nayapul is around one and half our driving distance from Pokhara.

      No sooner we reach Nayapul we head towards Tikhedhunga. It is around three hours walk. This (Nayapul) is the starting point of our Jomsom Trekking. We will walk along the bank of Modi Khola (River). We arrive at Birethanti followed by Hille. Finally, we arrive at Tikhedhunga.

      Overnight at Tikhedhunga

        Today we pass through Ulleri and walk on the stone steps of more than 3000 stairs. The stairs will test your endurance and stamina. Magar are the main inhabitants of this area. They are one of the indigenous groups of Nepal out of 59 groups.

        We arrive at Banthanti. Crossing oak and rhododendron forests we reach Nangethanti. Further couple of hours from here will bring us at Ghorepani.

        Overnight in Ghorepani

          Poon Hill is at a walking distance of around 45 minute from Ghorepani. It is a vantage point where people gather in the morning to get the view of rising sun. The sunrays striking Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in the morning are truly awesome.

          Following downhill trail we cross few community based hotel and move on. Magars are the locals of this area and to improve their living condition they are operating community based hotels.

          Overnight in Swata

            It is exciting and thrilling trail today. Many trekkers here reported that they had heard roaring of tigers and sound of bears. We suggest our guests not to walk alone in this part of the trail. Despite the fact no casualties related to wild beasts are reported so far. On the way there is a waterfall where you will spend some time enjoying its beauty. Finally, we arrive at Sistibum. There is only a hotel here.

            Overnight in Sistibum

              Located at the height of 3,660m, Khopra is truly beautiful view point. You get awe-inspiring view of snow-capped peaks—Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Dhampus Pass, Fulbari Dada including others.

              Here you get chance to taste yak cheese and its taste will remain in your tongue tips forever. The blooming red rhododendrons in spring will dot entire Khopra red. Pheasant (Danphe), national bird of Nepal is common here. You will go here with lunch packet as there is no hotel for your service.

              Overnight in Khopra

                It is going to be great day today! We will be visiting Khare Lake. It is couple of hour away from Khopra. Following uphill trail and enjoying scenic beauty we proceed ahead. This Khare Lake is the place where Yak blood drinking culture is noticed on the day of Janaipurnima.

                  Passing through rhododendron forest and enjoying mountains we move ahead to arrive at Dobato. The scenery on the way is fascinating.

                    We wake up early in the morning to hike at Mulde. It is a view point. From here you get nice view of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Tent Peak, Ghandarvachuli, and Fishtail. On clear day vision of Mount Manaslu is also seen from here.

                    Now we proceed towards Tadapani. We pass through bamboo and rhododendron forests. Reus monkey, musk deer and various species of birds are seen on the way.

                      It is relatively easy walk today. While on the way to Jhinu there are few hot springs. You can dip here. It is believed that water of these hot springs are cure to many skin diseases.

                        Following downhill and walking along Modi Khola (River) we arrive at Nayapul. From here we catch private or local vehicle to Pokhara.

                        You will get some leisure time to roam around Pokhara especially, boating in Fewa Lake.

                          After breakfast we will be driving to Kathmandu. You will be riding through Prithvi Highway enjoying countryside Nepal. The will ride along the way of Trishuli River.

                          Here in capital you get ample of time to roam around especially, on the streets of Thamel.  If you arrive Kathmandu earlier, you will have plenty of time to explore more of Kathmandu or simply search for gifts and souvenirs.In the evening, you will enjoy farewell dinner and exchange your experience of the entire trip with us.

                            Your Nepal stay ends from today. Representative of Info Nepal Treks and Expedition will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport three hours earlier to you scheduled flight.
