Helambu Trek is a kind of cultural trek which introduces you to Hyolmo culture. It is one of the easiest treks of Nepal which is categorized under Grade ‘A’ or easy trail.

The spellbinding view of mountains along with different culture will please you. It is a kind of soothing trail which suits to any age group from honeymoon couple to family with kids. Ganesh Himal (7405m), Langtang (7245m) and DorjeLhakpa (6990m) are the prominent mountains that you will see while on this trek.

The site resembles perfect social harmony existing since long back between Hindu and Buddhist. Both the religions respect each other’s beliefs.

Tamang is the major inhabitants of the area. Their Hyolmo culture attracts many tourists. Their tradition of stealing bridegroom by a bride in the marriage is fascinating for others. Lhosar is the main festival of this people.

Namaste! Info Nepal Treks and Expedition heartily welcomes you to the city of temples – Kathmandu. We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office representative will be there holding placard on which either client’s or company's name will be printed just opposite of the arrival and after your reception, we will drive to the hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, we fix the schedule for a short orientation meeting which gives you some general information about the trip and you will settle rest of the due payment at the same time. For this, you have to be with 3 P.P. size photographs, copy of passport and a copy of travel insurance.

Overnight in hotel

    Your trip to Nepal formally starts from the second day. You will be visiting UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites—Bashantapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Swoyambhunath.

    Kathmandu itself is a living museum and Bashantapur Durbar Square is the jewel of the crown. The site covers more than five hectares area protecting historical and cultural heritage. The site truly portrays the ancient face of Nepal and its wealthy culture and tradition. The palace called Hanuman Dhoka is the centre of attraction. There are many chowks in the palace.

    There are many temples including KumariGhar (the house where living goddess resides) in the campus premises of Bashantapur Durbar Square.

    Pashupatinath is the popular site of Hindus where Lord Shiva is enshrined in the form of Linga known as ‘Shiva Linga’. The temple is built in pagoda style and is located in the bank of Bagmati River. It is reported that more than a million Hindus visit here at the time of Shiva Ratri—Lord Shiva’s birthday.

    Similarly, Bouddhanath is located on the north of Pashupatinath. It is the popular holy site of Buddhist. Bouddhanath is a stupa built structure which is the largest stupa of South Asia. The stupa is covered by the white wall where a small statue of Amitabh Buddha is attached. The locality of Boudhanath is also known as Little Tibet. The surrounding of the site resembles Tibetan culture and tradition.

    Furthermore, Swoyambhunath is another popular Buddhist site where more than hundred thousand spiritual based tourists visit every year. Swoyambhunath is a dome-like white structure. Many monks like in Bouddhanath pray here counting beads and rotating prayer wheels.

    After visiting aforementioned sites we will drive you back to the hotel. Here we will introduce you to the guide and other supporting staff who will accompany you in your Helambu Trek. You will also get time to hire or purchase essential things required for trekking.

    Overnight in a hotel

      The trail to Helambu Trekking begins from Sundarijal. It (Sundarijal) is at around 15 kilometer away from the capital. Sundarijal offers you calm environment. It is also popular for watershed and wildlife reserve.

      We start walking through concrete steps from Sundarijal. We arrive at Mulkharka and here we take rest. Chisopani or Chisapani is at few hour distance from here.

      Overnight in Chisapani

        Following downhill track, we proceed towards PatiBhanjyang. It is a small village where reside around 100 families. From here (PatiBhanjyang) the trail gradually ascends. After some time of ascending, we will be descending and this will bring us at GulBhanjyang. Again following ascending and descending rocky course we get in Khutumsang.

        Overnight in Khutumsang

          Passing through Magen Goth we move ahead. Here we get a nice view of Langtang and Gosainkunda Peak. Enjoying scenic trail we reach Tharepati.

          Overnight in Tharepati

            After breakfast, we follow the downhill course. We arrive at Sherpa village called Melamchigaon. Here you will witness few gompas. After crossing MelamchiKhola (River) we will be walking on the other part of the valley and this will bring us at TarkeGyang. It is the largest village of Helambu area.

            Overnight in TarkeGyang

              As usual, our trail begins after breakfast. We will proceed through the downhill track. Crossing the forest we head ahead. The splendid view of Himalaya seen on the way is mesmerizing. After few hours of walk, we will reach Semathang.

              Overnight in Sermathang

                It is a kind of leisure day. While on trekking this type of rest is essential for trekkers as it reduces the chances of being arrested by high altitude sickness. It helps to adjust your body to increasing elevation and this is known as acclimatization.

                Despite rest day, we will be enjoying local culture and area today. Hyolmo culture is fascinating for you. You will also get an opportunity to taste local wine here.

                Overnight in Sermathang

                  Leaving Shermathang behind we follow descending trail till we reach Melamchi. We will take rest for few hours here. From here we catch a bus to Panchkhal. From Panchkhal again we catch a bus to Kathmandu.

                  you will have plenty of time to explore more of Kathmandu or simply search for gifts and souvenirs.
                  In the evening, you will enjoy farewell dinner and exchange your experience of the entire trip with us.

                  Overnight in hotel

                    Your Nepal stay ends from today. A representative of Info Nepal Treks and Expedition will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport three hours earlier to your scheduled flight.
