This is amazing news for the lovers of long and peaceful trekking adventures. Manaslu Trekking in Nepal, alternately famous as Manaslu Circuit Trek, is the ideal adventure for you.

Popular trekking areas around the world are too crowded with the trekkers flocking there every year. Although the popular areas are famous for their immensely beautiful scenery, the number of trekkers in the regions is so high that never leaves you alone to soak in the charm of mountains. But Manaslu Trekking in the Himalaya is one such adventure where you will have plenty of time to yourself. You will enjoy the most of the beauty of this wonderful region.

Where is Manaslu Trekking?

This trek goes in the region of Mt. Manaslu (8,156m), the eighth highest mountain in the world. This mountain lies in the MansiriHimal range of the Himalaya in Nepal. Although the mountain itself was successfully ascended in 1956, only 3 years after the successful ascension of Mt. Everest, trekking in the region opened much later. Trekking in Manaslu region is one of the newest trekking routes in the mountains of Nepal that opened up for trekking only in 1992 AD. The area has attracted many trekkers and climbers to enjoy the beauty of trekking in the wilderness. The region falls in between Annapurna and Langtang ranges of the Himalaya in Nepal.

What can you see on the Manaslu trekking?

As a matter of fact, Manaslu region also has, like other mountain regions, the awesomeness of mountain charm. The trek brings you the opportunity to trek from the lower elevation river valley to high elevation mountains. You will also get time to witness the cultural wonders of the lower river valley and high mountains as you trek along the trail.

Cultures in the Budi Gandaki River valley in the lower region and Nubri valley in the higher elevation show you some amazing cultural and lifestyle differences. The timeless villages in the higher elevation will give you awesome examples of the mountain lifestyle.

You will also enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains. As you trek along the region, you will get to see the view of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, DwijenHimal, SaulaHimal, Lajing peak, SimnangHimal, NgadiChuli etc. In addition to the view of mountain peaks, you will also enjoy the view of Manaslu glacier, Manaslu icefall, and Birendra Tal if you hike to Manaslu Base Camp on the acclimatization day at Samagaun. A high mountain pass challenge, Larke Pass (5,106m/Wikipedia), is another thrilling charm to face while trekking in the region.

Why should you trek in Manaslu?

As Manaslu region is a restricted area, as defined by the government of Nepal, it gets fewer trekkers. While initially, it was all camping trek, you can find teahouses along the route nowadays. But still, the charm of camping trek in the region is unparalleled. With the fewer number of trekkers in the region, trekking there is certainly a peaceful adventure. Your love for longer days and peaceful trek comes true in this adventure.  The real wilderness of the mountains and remote villages in Nepal has remained intact in the region. Since the region gets fewer trekkers, there is less influence of the modernity as you trek to the higher elevation. You will find nature in the most pristine form possible and villages uniquely wonderful. Of all, the smartest answer is that you will be able to enjoy the trek in the most peaceful environment possible while you explore the mountain wilderness unlike in the popular regions.

How to go Manaslu Trekking?

Trekking in Manaslu goes to the central-west region of Nepal and the Himalaya. As Manaslu region is in the restricted area list, taking a guide service while you trek there is a mandatory obligation. You will have to obtain a special permit to be able to trek in the region which your trekking agency will get for you. After obtaining the permit and other necessary stuff, you will drive to Soti Khola which is the starting point of the trek nowadays. You will finish trekking in Dharapani or further down towards Besi Sahar in the Annapurna Circuit Trekking route. You can also do the trek following the reverse route – starting at Besi Sahar onwards and finishing at SotiKhola. But to follow the first route is the best idea to acclimatize well in the mountains.
